The song "Daughter of a Vourdalak" by the band "Korol i Shut" tells the story of the tragic love of the lyrical hero for a girl who turns out to be the daughter of a Vourdalak (a Slavic type of vampire).

From the very first lines, we see the image of a hero who is lost and desperate: "The Gods have forgotten me… My feet have worn out the thresholds." He wanders, seeking solace in "nightlife establishments," where he meets his fatal love.

Despite the fact that he realizes her true nature ("The fact that your soul is in the guise of a dark force..."), the hero is ready for anything for his beloved: "For your sake, I am ready to cut down all the aspens." His love is unconditional and all-consuming, it is stronger than the fear of death and public censure: "Passion is stronger than fear, Death or sin."

However, the hero understands the doom of this love: "I know that such love will not be crowned with success." He realizes his "abnormality" in the eyes of society but cannot resist his feelings. The only thing he cannot cross is the boundaries of his faith, which is symbolized by the line "But I will never go against the cross."

The song raises the themes of love, fate, the confrontation between the human and the otherworldly. The lyrical hero is on the verge of two worlds, torn between passion and faith.
