A young man in love with a girl encounters an obstacle in the form of a "terrible dragon," which, as the girl claims, will not allow them to be together. The dragon in this case is a metaphor, personifying the girl's domineering and strict father, who "always watches over her."

The young man, full of determination, doesn't believe in "fairy tales" and is ready to fight any obstacle for the sake of love. He doesn't take the girl's words seriously, considering the "dragon" to be just a figment of her imagination or an exaggeration.

The girl, on the contrary, is constrained by fear of her father and does not dare to openly rebel. She tries to protect her beloved, warning him of the danger. Her "dragon" is not only a real person but also the embodiment of parental authority, fear of punishment, and unwillingness to conflict with the established order.

The climax is the unexpected encounter of the young man not with a mythical dragon, but with a very real and "angry man" with a club – the girl's father. The exclamation "Wow!" at the end is not only the young man's surprise but also the author's ironic commentary on the situation, where reality turns out to be more prosaic and comical than invented fears.
